Thread: Poll: How much warning will we get?

Default Poll: How much warning will we get?

Here's a little lottery for you, how much warning do you think we will get before OnLive is released. Most consoles tell you their release date a year in advance, this one says Winter 2009 and we still have no set release date (not complaining take all the time you need ). So the question is, will we get a release date a month in advance, 2 weeks, 1 week, 1 day, no warning at all HERE IT IS! Winner gets to play OnLive the day of LAUNCH!!! (What an amazing prize am I right!?)

Post your answer and your reason below. My vote is no warning at all (Apple style lol).

UPDATE: just to be clear, the question is "how much time will there be between them giving us a set-in-stone launch date (month, day, year) and the actual launch." not "how much longer till launch"

June 15-17, far outside their launch window. I expect either in February or at that conference they are going to early march.

But the question isn't, "how much longer till launch" its, "how much time will there be between them giving us a set-in-stone launch date (month, day, year) and the actual launch."

I think about 1 month before launch they will let the public know, they are a business after all and they want money, so it would make sense for them to set a date one month out so the word can spread as far as possible. One month is perfect to get lots of hype going, but not so long that the initial hype dies down.

unless of course they don't want a flood on release and want to ease into it. Its anyones guess.

True, I bet this is all stuff they will take into consideration as they plan for the future.

    "OnLive will release.. NOW!"

Actually seems plausible to me, because we've seen how it went with the first announcement:
    "It wont work."
    "Bullcrap."
    "Yeah right."

    And in 1/1000:
    "Interesting."

But if they start announcing the service from release then people won't have to doubt it, because they can just go ahead and try it!
