Hi all,
Recently I've been having problems purchasing Playpass games on Onlive. First of all a little background info. I live in the UK, I have a Visa Debit card for my current account which I have been using to pay for Onlive Playpack since February. During the recent sales I've purchased Assassins Creed 2, Assassins Creed Brotherhood, SPAZ and Borderlands.
Over the last week I've been trying to get a playpass for Assassins Creed Revelations but instead of taking my money and letting me play the game I get an error
The website says "We're sorry! There was an error processing your request. Please try again. If the problem persists, please visit support.onlive.com." in nice red letters and the Microconsole says "Valid Credit Card Needed. A valid credit card is needed to complete this purchase. Please update your account credit card at onlive.com/account/billing."
Now naturally I assumed there was a problem with my card, so I tried a Mastercard Credit Card instead but have exactly the same problem with that.
So far the Onlive support team hasn't been brilliant and have only said that "Currently our Service does not support payments made using chip and PIN credit cards." Which makes me wonder
a, How did I manage to buy anything at all over the last few months
b, How are they managing to do business in the UK, as I'm pretty sure almost all cards these days are chip and pin.
If anybody has encountered a similar problem or has an idea on how I can resolve this I'd be most grateful.
Kind Regards
bathrobe.
I've just worked out what the problem was. My girlfriend went into the bank the other day and changed the address on our joint bank account. Lloyds TSB have also updated the address on my private bank account without my consent. Which must be why the transaction wasn't working.
Nothing to do with the chip and pin. It's working again now thankfully.
