On doing homework. People go back and forth on its necessity, I am inclined to think it isn't and there is enough time in the school day to get things done and that it burns kids out on school and learning.

People should do the amount of work necessary to understand a topic. I agree that some people do not benefit from homework. I always appreciated when teachers made homework optional or extra credit. That should be the norm.

That's a very elitist view...Reminds me of that Republican politician who gave that response speech after Obama's last State of the Union saying, "this is not a country of 'haves' and 'have-nots', it's a country of 'haves' and 'soon-to-haves'"

Guess what? We can't all be rocket scientists...Saying those people that aren't in those high paying careers are just lazy complainers is ridiculous.

Also try going to college on a low income. Some college courses cost the same as a house!

I am lucky as I am college educated but that is in part thanks to the old British system of free education.

It is easy to sit here and say its easy just read and learn but most of you forget that in order to get the Diplomas etc costs money and lets face it not many people can afford a college degree and support a family at the same time.
