I wonder if we will be able to. Sure we can get virtually lag free server-server games, but will we even be able to play against people on PCs without onlive?

Once again, this is up to the game developers. If they want to integrate the two together, then that is there choice. But hey, I see no reason why not:D

See, I assumed it would just be the equivalent to jumping on a super pc, so yea, you could play with anyone else that was using the pc version like normal, but when watching the press conference they started talking about how the multiplayer would be lag free since all the servers would be right next to each other, and how you would have to be on the same server (like both on the east coast server) to play with a friend.

So with that said, apparently you wont, so its going to be like a whole new console completely. But I guess any of this could change at any point.

Outlawed is right. Have you ever tried to play with someone from the east when you are on the west? It would defeat the purpose of OnLive, but I definitely saw GameSpy running on Crysis Wars and they have their own servers that are seperate from OnLive. This leads me too believe that it will be developers choice.

For example... These days Windows players can play against Xbox 360 players cross-platform on select games.

yea, thats a whole system microsoft has, and its great, but as far as I know, onlive dosen't have any plans for this. And not all the 360 games that are on the pc and 360 can be played cross platfrom, actually most of them can't, even though a lot of them use windows live and let you get achievements and all that jazz.

Crysis wars is out on the pc, so if you saw gamespy running a crysis wars server, then it was probably just for the pc because gamespy does have its own server up for crysis wars that pc users can jump on now, just like any other pc game has certain companies that make dedicated servers for the game.

did you see or read that it was running exclusively off a local pc and on another pc through the onlive service?

and as for the east coast/west coast server thing, yea, it sounds stupid, i agree, but don't blame me for the stupidity, lol. watch the hour long press conference, I have it posted up in the news section.

I would think that they would try. It would be a good sell point to draw a customer in to play with their friends who don't have OnLive. Sometimes people play games because they can play with friends. It could be just "scrabble". Not everyone wants to play "crysis" on their netbook and uses that as a motive to subscribe to onlive. But they might want to play crysis with their friend just because they can now.
