hey guys I just signed up to this forum what I notised was that its going to be credit card, Debit card only. Have they considderd a Credits system so that people who buy onlive as a package can buy Credits from retail outlets so they can buy games and other media online for people who cant get Credit/Debit cards.
As I see that as a major plus for them if they use that system also It looks very Xbox the controler have they secretly merged with Microsoft and this happens to be the next Xbox??
It all looks interesting but sticking to a Debit/Credit card would be a bit much for most people due to the credit crisis
will be looking forward to your answers thankyou for reading.

I am not really sure if they have said they are only accepting credit cards. I don't think they have released this information yet. I have a feeling they may use a credit system as well. It would certainly make a lot of sense (plus it's good advertising having the credits forsale at video game stores).
I highly doubt they merged with Microsoft. Perhaps a merger or buyout in the future will occur though.

Well seems as it said ondemand kind of service it would mean charge the custumer when they buy (like most Cable tv networks e.g. Virgin media). But where I see credits being a success is the people who cant afford credit cards etc can just redeem their Onlive Credits card and buy content. also a time card would be a nice soluition.
either way the Manufactures would make a profit out of it if they did this being a win, win situation.
I have no idea how the payment options will work with Onlive, but for a system so integrated with Internet use, I find it hard to see them not using credit card/debit cards as a way of payment. As for subscription cards, I could see it happening, but with Onlive being marketed to a generally higher income user base, I don't know for sure. I don't know if it'd have enough of a userbase to warrant the creation for subscription cards. For example, I live in a major city in California and I have NEVER seen a retail Sony PSN card for sale, even though they are supposed to be sold in dozens of major chains. I'm not saying that PSN doesn't have a large enough user base to warrant the cards, but I don't think Onlive will need them.

I don't exactly know how someone would not be able to afford a credit card... their free. If they don't have a good enough credit score for one, then there is always a debit card. These of course require money in the bank to use.

My main card is both credit and debit. I suspect they will have game cards for sales at all major retailers. I mean they have neo-pets cards so people can buy virtual clothes for virtual pets... Why not this???
This worked before credit crisis, I don't know about now...
If you are like 18 years old and dont have a credit card what you do is this... Go to JC Penny, get their card. Buy a pair of socks with it. Pay off the socks. Rip up card.
Real credit card applications will begin streaming into your snail mail box daily...

Just use debit, much better, and no age limit.

But then you can't transfer balance between various credit cards to ever increasing levels of debt and live the American dream...
