I can't freaking wait. I use a 26" lcd hdtv as my monitor and can not even dream of running crysis at full resolution any where near 20 fps, much less 60!!

I really hope my connection, which is right around 4 or 4.5mb can support the full hd stream. If not, that would be a bummer, because with the way consoles are going, this thing needs to run in hd resolution when im playing it.

oh and to add to the games list, i haven't seen it officaly, but I was reading a review somewhere that some guy said he was playing gta 4 on it. not hard to believe since they are partnered with rockstar (dosen't say it on the site yet, but says it in one of the videos), and gta 4 is pc game, so that seems like a no brainier.

and since gears of war one is a pc game, and these are just super pcs running pc games, and since they are partnered with epic now, will we see gears 1 on it anytime soon?

Even on a 5MB connection, you won't get "full" HD. The hd stream has to be compressed, much like it is on the PSN or XBL right now, but that doesn't mean it won't look pretty XD.

The problem with Gears is that Microsoft have rights to its exclusivity (is that even a word?) so no, it won't be on OnLive.

I mean, it won't run in 1080p of course, but they stated that it will be in a 720p resolution, which is great, considering gaming actually looks and runs better in 720p over 1080i anyways.

and with gears, I know microsoft has exclusive rights for it, but they specifically made it for the pc, with game for windows. games like crysis up until now only ran on and were exclusive to a windows based pc and it uses the games for windows service. So I just assumed if they could get crysis on their servers, then pretty much any pc game was possible, but I guess gears is a first party development for microsoft so it not being available on the onlive service makes sense.

Unfortunately Crysis will not be in full resolution, only 720p, and it's not going to run @ 60fps most likely @ 24fps. I have a quad processor and a nvidia 9800gx2 running in 1900x1200 @around 35-45 fps in high settings, onLive would be a huge step back for enthusiasts like me (I'd rather have a nicer PC than a nice car), but we are minorities and most people would be more than happy to play crysis @ 720p on any computer or TV

Nothing has been really said about the capabilities of the servers, theres nothing to say at the moment that they won't be able to play Crysis at the same performance as yourself (or possibly higher).
And also regarding Gears. Just cause its a 'Games for Windows' doesn't mean it can simply be chosen to be put on OnLive, Its upto a games publisher whether or not it goes on and I'm pretty sure Microsoft won't want to be throwing it any bones.

I know its 720p, and as i stated, thats the best resolution for games in hd to run on anyways.

and they already stated in specific that crysis will be running at a solid 60 fps on there monster servers.

Yes, everything on OnLive will be 60fps, if they can live up to their promise. Oh and I didn't know that you had a supercomputer server at your house ('Cause you don't).

Expect Gears of War 3 for OnLive. Microsoft will not own exclusive rights too Epic's games after Gears of War 2

you mean very high settings... an 8800 could get that fps on high.

edit: *ahem* liar

It's Onlive!

I wonder if Onlive can make Crysis look as good as it does in these pics which are probably on a maxed out PC? I doubt it. Maybe with 1080p? Can anyone who played at the L.A. site test or beta tell us how it compares to these pics?

Thats like saying if i want out a bought GOW1 witch is out on the pc right now i would not beable to run it on linux/max and start up my own little serivece. Like any thing thay can only have somthing exclusive for a period of time. For instance Halo 2 was xbox exclusive then it came out on pc a few years l8r probs same with halo 3 but the reson Play sation or any other games companys fdont bothere is becaws the game is odl by that time you know what i eman it like XBOX aka M$ want F1 but sony have liek 10 year right to it lol. But yea it is verry possible to see GTA4 and GOW1 on on on on onlive lol. A example of this is BIOSHOCK older game buy todays standard but still looks good thay have that on there. I think onlice will sucseed more in the racing game rathere than FPS not that i dont think thay will do well in FPS i just think this whol setup thay got witht he plug pay and play will apply more to the i duno how would you say SPURE of the moment users. Plus you nottic lag more in fps how ever COD seris of some for and battlefield serise will most defenetly i hope and think will be on on on on live i did it again lol. BTW I HAVE A 37" LG LCD HDTV For My PC monitor As well as a GTX260!! 216 ;) just though i would brag and thought that out there. There for this sysetm is verry much appealing to me not that if onlive comes outi still wont be a pc enthusist but i like the concept and thay portablilty of it. Bit of a portable gadget man here with my net books and mini porjectors lol. OMG what have i got my self into here my post is like a frikin artical now BTW sorry if you cant read this i spell liek crap lol.

Best regards antony
