Now that Onlive is getting awesome. I should invest in a good keyboard/mouse combo.
I don't want to spend more than $100 for the set so this might be hard.
I want extra action buttons on the mouse. Also corded not wireless
the keyboard isn't as important to me as getting a good mouse but if there a keyboard with specially shaped or placed keys, I would like to hear about it. Wireless keyboard please.
I may be happy enough with just a really good mouse but I don't want to spend $100 on just a mouse.
Also, has anyone ever seen a wireless keyboard that you can plug a wired mouse into?
The mx518 is my mouse of choice (http://onlivefans.com/showthread.php?4900-Mouse-died-any-suggestions&highlight=mx518)

What about this? It has like 18 buttons.
That looks pretty cool :) Seems to be geared towards MMOs. WoW Insider (http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/02/17/razer-naga-epic-mouse-review-12-buttons-you-never-knew-you-want/), Crunchgear (http://www.crunchgear.com/2009/11/16/review-razer-naga-mmog-laser-gaming-mouse/)

I ended up getting the MX518. I was only $34.99. Too good a price to pass up such a highly recommended mouse.
Am I able to map anything to the extra buttons?

You can! I got it working on my Mac by using 3rd party software to map them to keys. It's probably way easier to do on Windows. I haven't gotten them to do anything on the microconsole though. The quick DPI buttons do work on the microconsole

So, how do you have this mouse set up for some games? Perhaps Homefront or Borderlands or UT3?

I had them mapped in Borderlands for crouching/running I think. There's probably way more useful stuff to map them to, maybe to the keys that are hard to hit without looking down at the keyboard

Eh, This mouse is annoying me. Not sure if it's this mouse or all Gaming mice. It seems that it technically only has 5 "mouse buttons" the other mice buttons can be assigned keyboard keys but then you lose their functions in Windows apps.
For example. The + and - buttons control sensitivity but you can choose for then to do something else but the only way to make those buttons useful in games is to assign them a keyboard command. But if I wanted to make them do something else in my browser, that seems in possible. It would be cool to have those buttons zoom websites or something.
Is it possible to make them register as Mouse button 7 and 8 and 9? Maybe profiles would be useful. The software can detect when you are running certain programs but I there doesn't seem to be anything you can do with that.
Any advice?

Are you using the official software? SetPoint (Overclockers Club) (http://www.overclockersclub.com/reviews/logitech_mx518_mouse/4.htm) (I think that might be showing an old version of it)
If so maybe take a look at UberOptions (http://uberoptions.net/)
Or you could use the game mode settings
