I know, it's an old movie - from 2006, oh gosh - but I just watched it for the first time on Voddler.

When I started the movie I noticed there wasn't english subtitles, so I turned them off. I hate anything but english subtitles! This lead to, me watching an entire 2 hours' movie spoken in a language I'd call mayan.

It wasn't till after they movie was over, I realised everything that was said were translated in the subtitles... But god am I glad I didn't watch it with subtitles!

Personally I'd say this movie was fantastic, mostly because I didn't understand a flying shit of what they were saying. I got drawn so much into the story, emotionally. I still got the story though, and understood partly of what they were saying judging from their facial expressions and body language.

Though, I believe this is a very brutal and violent movie. I wouldn't recommend it for the faint of hearted.

If anyone haven't seen this movie yet I'd recommend they do so; without subtitles! I started the movie over and jumped to some conversational scenes, with subtitles, and suddenly everything got dull and boring. You can watch it for free using Voddler, if you have access that is.

For those of you who have already seen it, have this (http://i55.tinypic.com/2z80osm.jpg).

I refuse to watch any foreign language speaking movies/shows without subtitles. I want to know what everybody is saying and what is going on, not just what’s happening on screen. Hate feeling lost in a movie/show when I can’t understand it.

How can you hate subtitles anyway? Sure, they can be a little annoying, especially when not done very well and/or when they go too fast, but at least they help you know what everyone is saying.

I love subtitles. Action movies will give you the easiest cues i.e. Hard Boiled

But start watching movies like 7th Samurai or Deux jours à tuer (Love Me No More) and it'll be clear you'll need some words.

I've never seen Apocalypto but it probably is one hell of a ride with the action. Mel Gibson is insane with his stuff. Unfortunately I wont be watching it any time soon. Getting into a John Wayne/Western run with my movies.

I'd suggest grabbing Netflix because of their variety of movies at high quality while offering different ways of watching them (disc, stream on the computer, or TV via TiVo, PS3, Xbox360...
It's worth the ten bucks a month. WELL worth it.

I hate subtitles because they draw my attention away from the actual movie!

But the point of this movie isn't to understand every single word, it's the story. Therefor I felt understanding every word just were a hindrance to understanding the story. Though, I must say the story ain't that spectacular, but I like it.

Actually in some way I felt like I was watching a documentary. Except from the camera angles etc... But I also like documentaries. :-)

Yes, I know for some movies subtitles is a must (just imagining watching japanese samurai movies without subtitles, lol), but this movie doesn't focus much on the conversation, more on the action.

speaking of voddler being a free movie stream site.

sometimes i go to jtv and watch a stream that shows a random movie

Well you know, Voddler is legal and free. But thanks for the links. :-)

Oh shi... didn't even think about that. I guess if they don't offer a good connection for streaming outside of the US it's probably not worth it. (I use it for strictly streaming. On rare occasions I get a DVD delivered)

As for movies, a good movie will have worthwhile dialog. (Wild Strawberries, SLC Punk, Big Lebowski) Oh man, I didn't even think of that. A number of comedies require attention to dialog.

For me it's not all pretty colors. But hey, that's art for ya.
