1. Fermi is the best thing since the Dec Alpha and even better since Intel couldn't do it. Its a bigger triumph than Intel pulling of Itanium would have been. It seems the be the first truely new architecture in forever and its every bit as over the top as Onlive. When Onlive has a public offering I will probably invest in both companies.

2. Its great that Nvidia is attempting a x86 core, its worth even wasting a billion dollars on it just to be barred from producing it because it will show that the x86 market needs to be blown wide open because 3 firms should be able to monopolize on ancient patents or derivatives thereof. People will wonder why the most capable company is barred its either a PR coup or marketing coup and demonstrates the right attitude the company.

3. If the Nvidia can convert me it will convert the market. Intel will be lucky not to be reduced to being Nvidia's fab.

I also like Nvidia. I never had any problems with them. A Nvidia graphics card that is just about as powerful as a certain version of a ATI graphics card will be much cheaper compared.

I have no clue why, but Nvidia never seems to work on any of my PC's

Perhaps you didn't hook up all the necessary power lines from the PSU? Some cards require more power than 1 or 2 slots can provide. I know this is the case for AGP-based cards but since I don't have anything modern I'm not sure how common it is for PCIe.

That was the problem...LOL! I made it snug and by the way its a Fermi...I also have a AMD Processor with a ATI Radon. I gave the Fermi a try and now its sitting in my tech lab (Basement) gaining dust. The Graphics didn't look so good a bit blobby so I swapped it with my ATI Radon.

i am trying to build a better computer, but only have a little experience in computers and only know how to use them not upgrade. i am at least trying to make it good enough so i could play COD: Black Ops. But at the same time dont want to waste alot of money.my PC specs are:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.20 GHz
512 MB RAM
32-bit Operating System

Could at least help me by telling me the first things to get and do. Please.

Call of Duty: Black Ops Minimal Requirements:

OS: Windows® Vista / XP / 7
CPU: Intel® Core™2 Duo E6600 (2.40 GHz) or AMD Phenom™ X3 8750 (2.40GHz) or better
VGA: Shader 3.0 or better 256MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 8600GT / ATI Radeon® X1950Pro or better
RAM: 2GB
HDD: 12GB of free space
DX: DirectX 9.0c
Sound: DirectX 9.0c-compatible

Depending on the graphics card you have, the only thing you need to do is to upgrade your RAM to 2GB or more as far as I can tell.

By the way, you need to know what graphics card you have before you buy Black Ops. What OS do you have? Instructions on how to find out on XP are different from Vista and 7.
