Is anyone else a fan of RPGs much?
I recently picked up Drakensang: The Dark Eye, and have been enjoying it. Unfortunately with how much I work I haven't been able to spend much time playing.

Is it first or third person? Does it have online play?
I glanced at the IGN page and saw it got a 7.5, but I'm about to head to bed so no time to look in depth at it.
It isn't first person, that's for sure. It is a third person RPG, it is party based and does not have online play. The gaming system is based on a very popular German table top Pen and Paper game. There's some decent information here on GameBanshee: http://www.gamebanshee.com/drakensangthedarkeye/walkthrough.php
Love me my RPG's. Turn based are my favorites, but games like Oblivion and Too Human are pretty fucking awesome, too. It's really a shame that there are only like, two good turn based RPG's on the 360.

Oblivion the elder scrolls was one of the most fun games I have played on the 360, unfortunately, its one of a select few good RPG's for the 360.
Posting here from my Blackberry, which I have yet to do.
What are the good turn based RPGs for the 360? I know that Fable II is not turned based, but what did you guys think about it?
Also, have any of you played Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn? That is probably my most favorite game ever.
What good turned based RPGs do you recommend for PC?

Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon are turn based for the 360, and there are others, but it depends on how loosely you interpret turned based.
O.K. for the P.C.The only true one you're going to find is Septerra Core.
Other than that, here are a few turn-based wRPG's:
Baldur's Gate 1 and 2
Icewind Dale 1 and 2
Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2
Knights of the Old Republic 1 and 2
Fallout 1, 2, and Tactics
Disciples 1 and 2 (Disciples is more of a turn-based strategy game with RPG-like elements)

Oh classics. :)
For the xbox people have been saying good things about a game called infinite undiscovery, don't really like turn based so not sure of others.

When it comes to RPGs, I say 3 words: Final Fantasy 7!
I got rid of our Xbox 360 a couple of years ago when I was moving, and I haven't bothered picking up another one - a lot of my buddies have one, and I didn't feel it was worth the money to play any of the single player games. Now with OnLive on the horizon I am willing to wait it out, and purchase OnLive vs. any other console on the market.
I played Septerra Core, but I remember running into some type of technical difficulty and never played the game through because of it.
I never played Baldur's gate I, however Baldur's Gate II is a favorite of mine. I didn't get play Icewind Dale, nor was I aware that there was an Icewind Dale II; I'll have to look into this. Neverwinter Nights and NWN2 are great, I still have yet to finish playing NWN 2. I have played KotOR and KotOR2, they're great games. I loved Fallout 2, I did not played the original Fallout. Fallout 3 actually lost my interest, I think it was due to other real life issues going on when I purchased the game more than the actual game itself though. I will have to check out Disciples.

You should try out Mass Effect, if you haven't yet. It's not quite turn-based but in a sense it is. The combat is much more intense than the KotOR games were.

For PC, you should try Neverwinter Nights (made by BioWare - makers of BG1/2). I've heard good things about The Witcher, but I'm not certain it's turn based. Beyond that, well, turn-based RPGs just aren't that popular. You could give Sacred a shot - never had first-hand experience on it but it seemed like a pretty decent game.
Fable 2 was a solid game, but honestly not worth the $60 unless you don't mind short, single player RPGs. There were a lot of quests but the campaign was very short and the side-quests themselves weren't terribly addicting. It was also ridiculously easy.
I actually have Mass Effect, but I'm REALLY looking forward to ME 2. ME 1 was kinda boring to me, but ME 2 sounds much better, especially since they're revamping the shooting system.

Kingdom Hearts 2 is awesome, i have got the game 98% completed but cannot kill sephiorth, Final fantasy owns too XD
Runescape is probably the most diverse RPG with one of the most friendly communities, people just jugde it on its graphins lol,
look me up on highscores if you like

I've been grinding out Mass Effect like it was my job. I bought it a while back and didn't play it much, then one day *BOOM* the urge just hit me and I haven't been able to put it down. :D

The reason i dont like it is cause its alot of grinding work and the game play is not so great.

That should read "Final Fantasy 6." So much better if you went by story. Though 7 is my number 2.

Yea, it's worth trying again. You gotta give it time. While there is a lot of Space Opera in there, it does actually get pretty fun.

Yeah i supose, but compared to most MMO's which are boring quest and endless fighting, runescape has big quests and many skills.
The only reason i really play runescape now is to talk to the odl friends that i have made over the years whilst playing the game. i have been playing since about 2004 november time i think =]
P.S. I will look you up on highscores =]

Eternal Sonata is another good modern RPG. Very unique.
Theres something different about MMORPGs and RPGs, They are barely the same.
RPGs have a deep character development in story and slightly more linear leveling up as built to that character. MMORPGs are based around building a character to be your alter ego and haveing complete freedom to do whatever =P

You guys should try out 2moons or one of its power servers. Its free to play, has decent skills and gameplay but i admit its a challenge to level up.

Well, since we're only talking about RPG's games, I've taken a liking to the Chrono Trigger that came out for DS. Another good one for DS is The World Ends With You. Anyone ever heard of it?

Regretfully, I have not had much time for RPG's. The last one I beat was Mass Effect (Woo! Romance Side-quest), and the last one I bought (and beat) was Tales of Symphonia. (Mass Effect was in the Game Development Lab =) )
Its hard to buy such a long game when you generally don't know if you like it till a few hours in. All the content that goes into the RPG makes it one of the best deals you can get, but its only worth it if you play though the whole game....

Not necesarily, I've been goofing off in Oblivion for a few years now, and I don't think I've gone past Kvatch in the main story xD.
Also, why is everyone so gaga over final fantasy 7? I got bored with it about halfway through the first disk. Also, I agree with the statement about number 6 being awesome, and also Chrono Trigger was friggin amazing. It's too bad that JRPGs lost their luster after the SNES.
But here's another game that I enjoyed, anyone remember OgreBattle 64? That was a good fun game, it's a shame they never really kept it going.
