Hey OnLiveFans!
Unfortunately there have been some actions taken by members of this community that have had a negative impact on another online community that shares our interest in OnLive. As a result we, the moderation team, are making a clear stance on the topic of advertising to other online users.
Spamming
Unsolicited e-mail, often of a commercial nature, sent indiscriminately to multiple mailing lists, individuals, or newsgroups; junk e-mail.
We, OnLiveFans.com, does not condone spamming on other forums or websites as a method of advertising or driving traffic to our community. This is heavily frowned upon in the online world, and there is no tolerance for it here. While it some may have done it with the best intentions, we please ask that no one does this in the future. Anyone found doing this in the future will be forcing our hand in taking action against their account here.
With that said, those previously involved with this incident have been appropriately dealt with. As we had not previously set any ground rules on this topic we will not be placing any 'heads on a pike', nor will they be banned from this forum. Know that OnLiveFans is a friendly environment, however if further actions are discovered we will pursue the means necessary to keep OnLiveFans an enjoyable community for everyone.
This does not mean that we do not want you to stop sharing with your friends this great community, however use judgment in determining whether your communication is being solicited or not. If you are just joining a forum, or posting on a website for the sole intention to send repetitious messages advertising this community then please refrain.
We greatly appreciate your understanding, and invite you to privately message any one of the moderation team here. ;)
