Here we go again where in typical Sony and Nintendo fashion they have their shill sites trying to define the games industry as being primarily composed of them. Here by allusion the ‘games industry,’ also includes brick and mortar retail which will see some challenge. But the consequences are mostly for those two unprepared ultra loud mouth firms. It will be a renaissance for gaming as it is lifted from the oppression foisted upon the market by these two toll road DRM mongering firms. There will be huge opportunities for end users and investors alike, both are going to see an order of magnitude more value.

There is also the implication out of these two firms that MS will suffer as well from cloud gaming. This is simply now so. For at least 3 years now MS has been shifting to cloud everything as hard as MS went after Netscape in the browser wars. Ms is a cloud technology supplier that has staked its future in everything on the Cloud.

Sony idea of the Cloud is trying to get people to pay some huge subscription fee for ad packed Hulu on a living room TV. Nintendo's idea is finally adding Netflix. The shil sites were twisting Intel's on the dropping of Larabee to revolve around neglecting a supposedly critical focus on HD Video. HD Video has become trival to the point of being irrelevant. In 2010 it would be like arguing that some major product failed because it was not obsessed with text editors. What was the problem? Larabee included some superior option in addition to the toll road irrelevance of say HDMI?

Empower thy customer, as opposed to colluding to shill them.
