i was reading one of the posts someone left and i was wondering the same thing. when the beta comes out over the summer, do u think they will make you pay for anything like games? i no the actual beta will be free, but wat if they charge per game? i no i wouldn't pay money for a game i can only play for about a month during the summer.

This is totally a guess but I expect them to put the game's demo's on only. Highly doubtful they would allow you to play all of the major titles on the onlive system without paying and during beta they wouldn't even have a payment setup made...

My guess... which is only speculation: Free subscription, free demos, but you have to pay for rentals, and no option to buy. Also, I would guess that some developers would choose to have their games on it for free, but only for a limited time.

It will most likely be something like that. They won't make people pay for the subscription etc. But game publishers might not allow their games to be played for free. However, it won't be available to everyone, and only for a short time, so they will probably work something out.

Aph0ticShield sounds the closest but I couldn't really want to pay to play a game I can play on PS3 that wont have any errors like the beta will have...

I would guess they would waive the subscription charges and just charge a discounted amount for the games during the beta.

I mean it is a beta, if they charge for anything in it, then it wouldn't really be a beta anymore, but at the same time, nothing like this has ever been around, so we will see what happens. I am still hoping for the free games :)

Traditionally betas are free. I think they would lose a lot of popularity if they charged for their beta.

Well OnLive may be in Beta, but most of the games certainly aren't. I don't see any reason the publishers would want people to play their games for free when they are selling them at a cost to others.

The only exception that I can see is Warner Bros. Being an investor of OnLive, I would suspect Lego Batman or whatever to go on for free. They want OnLive to succeed.

That is exactly why I would think they would charge for the games. Otherwise they would lose money through the nose.
