View Full Version : OnLive and the Romans
With OnLive's Arena system I believe we'll be giving the Roman's a run for their aureus (money) with the potential for an online coliseum worthy event using this great technology that shall soon be available.
I'm thinking that the Arena aspect of OnLive is really going to see more usage than people realize at first, especially when it comes to games with tournament capabilities. Namely this will be with shooter and strategy games.
What are others' thoughts on this?

At the moment I find the tournament systems (ie GameBattles) rely too much on players sorting it out themselves. Any system which could take the individual hassle out of organising the matches would be very welcomed. I also hope that OnLive develop a good clan system, very disappointed that XboxLive havn't introduced one yet.
P.S. Just to be pedantic, 'pecunia' is the correct word for money, 'aureus' technically means gold piece/gold coin.

Yeah, I never really thought about it...but this could prove to be huge for tournament gaming..albeit if done correctly.

They are really promising a ton of social features (IE: Massive spectating, voice chat, clan, tournys, etc.) I just really hope that they work out and that they are transparent in the system. From the looks of it, it will really be simple and easy to use (I like.)

Yes, ease of use is important, but I would like to see how massive clans would work, maybe it will be at the E3.

Thank you for that! It made me laugh, and I appreciate your attention to detail. I agree, that would've been a better word choice there. ;)
