Does anyone know the pricing details for OnLive? I heard that there will be a membership fee (anyone know how much) plus you will have to buy the games individually or package. They will also have the option to rent the games. If anyone knows what the price ranges for games would be that would be great.

I assume there will be different tiers for OnLive games where better games will cost more.

So far they haven't released any pricing publicly. I know there will be Free demos, and probably a bunch of cheaper games for those of you who don't have a ton of money to spend. I wouldn't think the better games would be any more then a regular console game is now. Most likely they will be a great deal cheaper.

They will be cheaper, since they don't have to spend money on the discs or shipping etc. that they normally would. How much cheaper, as 'admin' said, is yet to be determined. But rest assured, you won't be dissapointed. Besides, it's a GREAT way of renting games. They said there will be some form of renting, and if so thats great since it beats taking the bus to a store and stuff. Just like how online multiplayer changed arcades. You no longer have to go take the bus to a mall just to play with other people. Hopefully groceries has some sort of internet download soon, so I will never have to leave my home.

I don't beleive in purchasing any game that I don't have either a disk or a digital copy which can be burnt to a disk.
Physical items for hard earned cash not virtual air for cash. naha!!

Supposedly, the entry level (price it will cost to be a member of OnLive) will be a good amount cheaper then the $250 it costs for the Wii. My guess is it will be around $149 to gain access, but thats just my guess.

$149 ?

I would assume this service would be subscription based, not a one time payment, and I would imagine it would fall around the area of $40 - $80 a year, but that's just a random guess

The reason I say $149 is because they officially said that it will be cheaper then the Nintendo Wii. Perhaps it will be subscription based. I guess we won't find out the details until later. I assume one would have to buy the TV adapter and wireless remote if they wanted to use them.

You can't leave out the possibility of them just bundling it straight with a pre-paid amount for say, a year of the service either. They mentioned that potential in their press conference yesterday

According to IGN, it will likely be a monthly-based subscription service. I wonder if that includes the ability to play any of those games? If so, the monthly fee would be outrageous - I assume it will be like Xbox Live, pay for the games AND the MP capabilities. :/

Okay, normal cost of a current-gen game is about $59.99. Let's say ten of that is to cover manufacturing, ten more for distribution, ten for promotion, and the rest for profit.

Then it would stand to reason that a game available online would not cost more than $30.00. A subscription service would not possibly cost more than the cost of one game. Since they still have the servers to upkeep and still want to make a profit, I would guess around $25.00 a month.

Alternatively, they could charge a fee just for the upkeep of the servers and for profit, say around $10-15.00 and then charge the full $25-30.00 per game. This seems the most likely to me since there is a "rental" option.

There would be no rental option or demos if you didn't actually have to purchase the game.
