Speaking with Joystiq, Steve Perlman, the founder of the newly revealed OnLive cloud gaming service, has said that he isn't surprised people are skeptical about whether the system can actually work.
Despite all corners of the industry debating whether the service can actually function, without the need for local hardware and mega internet connections, Perlman insists that OnLive have the technology to pull it off.
"They damn well better be skeptical. When I set out to build this thing, we looked at it and said, 'Look, in theory it's possible to do, but in practice we just didn't know if it could actually be done,'" the boss offered, adding that he expected there to be doubters.
Perlman says that the involvement of big name publishers should be a vote of confidence in the service, which he says has been tested by the firms before they committed to releasing their games via OnLive.
We can't say we're not intrigued.
