I think Onlive is going to be awesome already but I think it could use some more features so that way gamers aren't missing their old consoles. I think this should consist of:

Rent to Buy
Achievements
Arcade games
local multiplayer

I think most of these are already included but if not these are what would make this console #1 in my opinion. First off because many people are sceptacle about how this is going to work and if you introduce some fun features from other consoles as well as different ones it will keep them from looking back in my opinion. Keep up the good work, this console should sell very well. It may have its draw backs but then again what console doesn't. It is very user friendly and it unites console gamers and computer gamers and that is ideal.

Just a couple comments. I like the rent to buy idea, and I wouldn't be surprised if they implemented something similar to that in the final version. Achievements may be around but they probably won't be similar to 360 achievements simply because MS has that idea copyrighted/trademarked or whatever. Local multiplayer obviously won't be possible on PC but it may be useful for those using TV's.

well, I wouldn't put the achievements idea to bed just yet. The PS3 has almost the exact same "trophies" as 360's "achievements". With the exception of the platinum trophy. So they could still pull it off.

Sadly, local multiplayer wouldn't really be an option. Unless they change that for the final.

Rent to buy is a good idea. Demos don't come along for a lot of the blockbusters as much as you would think.

I really doubt microsoft has that copyrighted since WoW has achievements and even if they can't call it "achievements" they can do what sony did (with trophies) and make their own knock off version.

As a side note I much rather have a point system opposed to gold, silver, bronze and whatnot.

What they should do is take the same concept of "achievements" and "Trophies" and come up with another name such as:
Gamer Goals
Onlive overachiever
Onlive objective

And they could have a gamerscore system with a name like:

Brag points(BP) to go along with brag clips
Onlive points (OP)

I don't know they are just opinions Maybe a dumb idea to post this?

Of course its not a dumb idea to post it. I can guarantee you that the people at OnLive have at least thought about the idea of giving some sort of score to gamers for completing game objectives and such.

Achievments would be a cool feature, but what would that do for the gamer personally?

Make them feel comfortable in their new playing environment. It will attract a larger audience and give them something they can't have in just the regular PC games, unless the new "Games for Windows" allows cross-game achievements.

Hey mods, please close this thread! It has already been created http://onlivefans.com/showthread.php?t=64 I also suggest you sticky this thread that I URL'ed.

Well it would make a user feel like he isn't loosing anything from their previous console. Making them feel somewhat "at home", plus now achievements are becoming a very competitive way of gaming. It will also bring more conversation to the gaming world, Because you can ask friends how you can obtain these certain achievements bringing gamers together. Its also a bragging right and you know how that goes now a days.

Very true, now a days you will hear people bragging about their acheviements on facebook and school and everywhere.

And to expand on the achievements point (which have been confirmed), i think its a way of getting the most out of the game. I dont like how alot of devlopers do their achievements. Some do it right though :P Achievemnts for each level etc., then each difficulty, then random tasks and thern finding all collectables etc. It means you can truely say you have 100% compeleted a game.

Yeah...I think Gears of War 2 did their achievements right.

An achievement-like system has already been announced

Local multiplayer is almost guaranteed because the micro-console supports more than one controller

I have not heard anything about arcade games

I'm not sure what you mean by 'Rent to Buy games', but I assume it means that you if you rent the game and like it, you can pay a little extra and purchase the game. If that is what you were saying, than that almost certainly will be implemented into OnLive.

I believe he means if you rent a game for a certain period of time and keep renting it, the game wont be the same price to buy, it'll then be a reduced price for you or after a certain amount of rents you just get the game.

Oh. That would be a nice thing to have in OnLive.

I think if onlive releases a larger selection of games soon it will be the better than any other gaming service available.Just think, what if there were some massive multiplayer games like w o w and c o d mw2.The wireless controller would also give gamers a better experience, so once they are released we will see how quick everything expands.

Seriously? Your first post on the site was to necro a post that is over a full year old?

There's a 7 page thread for suggestions that's already talking about mmos and call of duty games.

*Brag Clip Score - Goes up or down based on your Brag clip ratings. It may help to limit all those pointless brag clips out there.

I don't have access to OnLive yet (as I'm in Europe), but I'll bet my shoes there's a whole bunch of teabagging brag clips out there.

not that i've seen, it's been a while back since i looked at the top viewed brag clips, and number one was assassin's creed 2, and the guy made it look like Desmond was giving a handjob on the stairs.
