Well, I made a post a few days ago about why I thought the wired 360 controller would work on the microconsole. Still not 100% sure if the 360 controller will work on the microconsole (defiantly on the pc), but I found out the next best thing.
After watching a video of a guy demoing the onlive software at its booth at gdc, I noticed it was connected using the microconsole and that they were using a controller that I thought was a 360 controller, but later learned it was a logitech pc controller that pretty much completely mimics the 360 controller.
So for sure you will be able to use this on the microconsole and this controller has cooling fans in it, not to mention its only $30.

btw, this controller does NOT work with the xbox 360 itself. It is just designed to be a solid 360 controller that works not only as a standard pc game controller, but a controller that can be used across the windows live anywhere games as well with the ease that the original wired 360 controller has.

Nice find, but I still think that OnLive will have the plug 'n play functionality of a Normal Windows PC.

Nice information. But is there going to be any wireless controller capabilities for the microconsole? Or is the microconsole going to be only wired controllers

the microconsole will support up to 4 wireless controllers (their wireless controllers, not 360 controllers) and 4 bluetooth headsets.

ok, so they are going to have the monopoly on wireless controllers then?

lol, I don't think it is possible to patent and claim the wireless controller as yours and nobody else to use it these days since it has already been used on all the consoles this generation.

Sorry, should have been more specific, I was wondering if Onlive is going to work with that one kind of wireless controller?

Since the micro console has blue tooth for head sets I'm guessing that's also how it connects to the wireless controllers? Think I could some how use my PS3 controller that is also blue tooth connect to the micro console? I think that would be a pretty cool feature!
Also why would they be using a controller made by someone else for the demo when there controller that comes with the console is pretty much the exact same thing with extra features like brag clips.

When a company makes a wireless controller, be it bluetooth technology or not, they have the rights to that wireless frequencey at least for the wireless use of controllers. If any other company wants to use it they have to get the rights for it.
Heck, 3rd party companies have tons of trouble getting permission to make wireless controllers for the consoles, and the only instance that I know it has happened if ro the rock band/guitar hero controlelrs, which are in a world of there own.
So I really doubt sony or microsoft is going to give them permission to use the wireless frequences. Maybe with the ps3 controller, since it is bluetooth, but you would probably have to hack the microconsoel some how. You could possibly also use the 360 wireless controller with the 360 wireless usb adapter, but I have no idea if that is going to work or not.
and as for the question about the logitech controller being demoed, thats a good question, maybe they wanted to show the players that if you wanted to buy it, you could feel right at home using the logitech 360 controller, or maybe the onlive controller isn't quite ready for demos yet, might have some problems, especially since its wireless with all the connectivity that would have been going on at gdc.

btw, I never really thought about it, but that is possible, but at teh same time, i doubt it will be exactly the same. they can't use the same support base as microsoft because they are a compeitor, but they could still make it work, they would just have to build there own driver support from scratch.

Yes and no, at the launch, it will probably be only OnLive controllers. As more 3rd party companies home into this tech, then expect OnLive compatible wireless controllers to crop up. (Think Rockband and Guitar Hero, they use the wireless on the Xbox 360)
Another yes is that you can most likely use the PC USB to wireless for Xbox 360 controllers.

Okay, your PS3 controllers will not properly sync or handshake with an OnLive console. Sony will make sure of that. Example: You know when 2 cellphones pair up via bluetooth? You must type in the same code on both of the units. The thing is, OnLive might not know this code or other security.
As for the demo, OnLive was just demonstrating the compatibility of their system with a variety of inputs: Keyboard, Mouse, OnLive controller, PC, microconsole, Xbox 360 controller (Logitech?).

that sounds very similar to what I said, just reworded (lol, even used the rock band/guitar hero example), but ill let it slide this time

I guess you can only talk about the same topic for so long. After that, repeats start to happen.

Well, actually I was contradicting you (I think your explanation a little confused and not to mention complicated), not copying. I also didn't even see your rock band/guitar hero thing. LOL
