Hello fellow gamers,
I'm living in Belgium and i was wondering if the games are played with onlive it would be possible (according to me) that the games are going to be bigger. Just take Battlefield: Bad Company for example it has a brand new engine so good quality in footage and sound but only 8 main missions. I think it is possible with onlive to get the same quality but in much more missions. This really is going to help the game industry.

And i just want to know if it's possible to do something like typing in the serial number from an older game, because you already bought that game and you want to share your exp. and game footage with your friends on onlive. So you don't need to buy the game a second time.

please answer and thanks for reading

I don't think it will mean that each game will have more missions, games at the moment can have as many missions as the designers want and aren't really limited by space. What does limit space more are things like textures and sounds, often textures are compressed to a large extent to fit on a disc, this is an area in which OnLive could help developers. An example would be the upcoming Rage by id software which uses a new technology of 'Mega-textures' where some of the textures used are 20gb+. After compressions it should fit on a Blu-ray fine, but will need at least 2 (possibly 3 dvd's) to run on the 360. In this situation you can imagine OnLive being the medium of choice for the developers and will allow for less hassle and less compression.
So in answer to your question, no, i don't particually think it will result in an increase in missions, but it will result in high quality textures and less restraints for developers.

Also regarding the use of serials to activate old games. I doubt highly that this will be an option as publishers aren't very generous people, they are companies who will take any opportunity to earn money. Also if they were to let you use serials to activate games, they'd have to pay out of their own pocket to OnLive for them to host and run the games, another thing i doubt they'd want to pay for.

Thanks for the answer Jimex. That's true the quality limits are also more limitless now with onlive then now on the cd. But if you look at GTA:4 it has a large world, beautiful graphics AND many missions. This is also because the missions are always played in the same envirement just like FarCry 2.
But i was just hoping to see Battlefield: Bad Company with as many missions as it had in Battlefield 1942 for example.

That's also true when you're speaking of the publishers aren't being generous people. But you'll never know! (just until onlive is up and running).
