What will happen in 2012

I am interested in 2012, notably - the Mayan prophecy about the end of the world 12.21.2012. Many people talk about it now, besides, the movie comes out soon. I'm interested to read something about it. Disclosing this theme.

After watching a history channel show on it, it seems that we would be stupid not to believe something will happen. So many different separated ancient civilizations around the world predicted the same thing, along with a lot of unexplained things in those civilizations.

I don't think it is going to be the end of the world, just a change for the good, hopefully.

Or maybe I am just completely wrong and 2012 theory is bogus.

Either way, if you can find the show that ran on the History Channel, it is a very good watch.

I think 2012 is slowly becoming a merchandise bait. However I do beleive something might infact happen. It won't necessarily be the end of the world in fact its less likely, but it is estimated by scientists that by 2012 the sun will flip its poles. In that event the sun will unleash some sorth of plasma energy or magnetic smthing (dont quote me) that might interfere and deal great damage to electronics on earth. Some fear it will destroy most of the sattelites and it could also bring down the power networks.

but as i was saying, their were multiple ancient civilizations that never had contact with each other (as far as we know) on different parts of the world that all said something epic would happen, on the same date. that is what actually separated it from any other conspiracy theory for me (or whatever you would consider it).

The only civilization I've herd of is the Mayans and they didn't say the world would end they just were to lazy to finish there god damn calendar, hence causing chaos around the world thousands of years later and people are like omg they were lazy must be end of the world! Also, that day, 12.21.2012, just happens to be when the moon, earth, sun, and the black hole at the center of the galaxy line up. This occurrence only happens about once every 25,000 years. What is crazy is that the Mayans knew there was a black hole at the center of the galaxy, when modern day research only found that out 5 years ago.

Computer software that predicted Sept. 11th 2001 by crawling the internet has also found that there will be a significant event on 12.21.2001. But whether that is accurate is in the eye of the beholder.

Well dude I sure hope nothing happens on this date but what I am seeing right now is a nuclear war happening, setting off another iceage not extincting us but lowering are population and elimanating millions of resources. People will then probably then start new civilizations, languages, and way of living.
On the other hand I dont know about the dumb myan calander they were freakin weirdos any way, this will probably be just like the year 2000 thing but bigger and it is being way over exadjorated like the swine flu (srry idk how to spell i am a idiot) I sure hope so any way.
There is one more guy though, Nosturdamus. I have been watching the history channel and alll that has been on is this damn 2012 and Nostradamus decoding the past, or something like that. He has some realy interesting things like how he saw 3 antichrists instead of one and if the history channel guys decodings were right the 2 so far that Nostradamus has predicted have been right on, he predicted Napolen and Hitler (well I think) and some see are end is very very near. But the Bible says that we will never know are end so hell with all this I am just going to live my life like I do every day and not get to dramatic or scared about this upcoming year like every body should do, unless we all know we are going to die I will probably do something then.

I can already tell you that everything won't perfectly "normal." There are going to be some astrological occurrences on that day and nothing can be changed about that. It probably won't amount to anything, but you never know.

Yup that could well be the case. Even more likely though is that it will be just another typical day and people will search and search until they find something special about that day. Thus justifying the predictions. Predictions like these are always extremely vague and describe 'destruction' or 'upheavel' so that almost regardless of what events occur the predictions will seem to be true.

If you do watch that 2012 History channel show the 'web bots' which supposedly have a good track record of prediction events don't really make a prediction about 2012. They say something to the effect of a series of events will build leading to a climax in 2012. They did make a slightly more specific claim related to limited nuclear war in 2008/09 which obviously has not come true. They also charge money if you wish to see their other predictions.

Be careful with all the History channel stuff. They have gone downhill in recent years as they try to get viewers. More and more of their shows focus mostly on a claim few support with (usually) little evidence to back it up. They'll show the skeptic opinion but the monsterquest shows in particular always seem to be pushing the 'believers' opinion to make it more interesting.

I've never heard of any other civilizations predicting the end except the Mayans. There have been many pure coinceidences in history, such as regarding the Mayans, they built pyramids similar to the Egyptians although they never were in contact. I don't know about the Mayans, they had a tradition of stabbing people in the heart, taking it out and holding it up with bear hands in the sun and throwing the body of the sacrificed down the pyramid. Because they believed that blood and human sacrifice was the only way the sun shines and the rain rains.......

I mean, I hope nobody gets jinxed but as far as I recall, nothing has really happened on Friday 13ths and 6/6/06. Let us all hope life goes on.
