View Full Version : How come no one posts in OT?

Most forums I peruse/troll, 90% of the time the off-topic or general discussion forum section has the most posts. Here, it seems everyone keeps to OL discussion. Is it because of all the hype around OL, and the timing (being that OL was just announced)? Or are people here just not interested in off-topic forums?
This probably won't be a productive thread, as I imagine half the server population won't view it. :/

I just think that the forum is so new that the community hasn't really formed yet. The majority of the people here are interested in Onlive and thats the sole purpose they are here. Once the forum grows which it has been at an extraordinary rate, then people will start using the offtopic section to chit chat with people they have come to know.

That's a good point.

I'm here for onlive, and if I have something off topic that I wan't to discuss with the community I will post it here, but as long as threads that are completely pointless (like just counting to 50, and most of the post in that thread are literally just a number with no other information, no offense guys) then I will just stay out of this section. I mean really? That isn't even off topic, thats just cluttering the forums.
The forum is for Off-topic, so I don't see any problems with people making posts like that. As long as they remain in the Off topic folder I say "go for it". I think off topic sections grow as the forum grows.

Agree, I tend to avoid forum games, as their sole purpose is to spam post count. I am trying to get interactive threads - e.g. the desktop picture thread, the playlist thread - to encourage posters to come here, though. So eventually we can have enough OT posters to carry on intelligent debate threads, sports threads, etc. :]

I come to the off-topic soley because these is so little information about OnLive currently and because their aren't very many posts to reply to. Hey, if the admin doesn't like forum games that is fine by me, I just like to have fun and pass the time.
I also know that you guys think I am just trying to raise post count. I truely don't care about that. I just didn't see any awesome off-topic, so I made one:cool:

Speaking of the fact that there is so little information about Onlive, when will more information come out? And is there any speculative release date yet for the beta?

I like this idea of debate and sports threads....maybe somebody could start one?

Forum games can be fun! On one site I go to the game they are playing now is you ban the last person who posted, so in this thread since that yahootoy075 spammed I could say banned for spamming and then someone could ban me for some random reason.
Another fun one is you make a story so you just say a line of a story and people add on to that story and at the and a few pages later the creater then takes all the post and combines them so everyone can read the forums story xD fun stuff!

I'd still rather discuss Onlive...but forum games are sometimes fun. I like this site because the mods are good, not too strict, not to lenient, its the best moderated forum I am a member of.
