POLL: Should THESE giant sigs be allowed to continue?

Should these giant signatures be allowed to continue? It's a yes or no issue.

I feel that they are excessive, serve no purpose in self-expression or OnLive information and are there only to gain attention. They are also larger than ANY OTHER SIG on the board by about 60%. Go ahead and find the largest sig besides these ones you can find and compare them in Photoshop against each other.

Of course not, however neither should any other large signature. Until something is done about the signature limitations I see this as a valid form of protest.

I might have fallen off lately about sigs but I am going through and removing ANY sig that is too big. Small to medium is fine. Others are being removed. If removed sigs are readded, a warning will go out.

Many people will say "sigs are a way to express yourself!" or "If you don't like sigs why don't you turn them off?"

Simple answers, if you need to express your self with a 900x900 picture then gtfo, I'm an artist and can express myself with my medium sig and I like seeing certain sigs, some of them make me laugh and I identify users with them, I'm not going to turn them off just because a few users like to be obnoxious with their signatures.

I do believe you can disable the viewing of signatures, so... If there is a limit, I would understand and agree.\

People should just use imageshack which gives you options to make your picture designated for forums, or avatars, or whatever the hell you want.

Honestly, my going through a clearing them out is much better than going on this entire crusade to remove sigs. Seriously, with the help from the forum members reporting ones they even THINK might be oversized helps out.

Kickn, to be honest, you don't need to repost your page long reply over and over again. Personally, the point is made every time I scroll passed it.

There is no need to remove them, there is a need to limit sigs.
As I've stated before and again and before and again, there are limits available via the admin controls as well as mods that directly relate to this issue. Instead of taking the time to install the mod or set the parameters once, the admin here have decide to simply go out and PM users again and again and again, not with much affect since the sigs continue to pop up...

As to not hide behind an anonymous poll, I voted yes even though I can't stand large sigs as much as the next guy. I've stated numerous times my reasoning, 1) Adblock specific signatures you feel are excessive, 2) disable signatures completely in your options, 3) hit escape to stop animated gifs.

I went with number 2 months ago and haven't looked back since. It's a much much cleaner site for me now.

Didn't realize that scrolling down a page was such a pain for a person, I mean i don't support the large sigs at all either, esp as a form of protest. Its just silly that you would counter big sigs....by making bigger sigs? Alright...its a cold war in these forums with sigs
